KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UPDATE: The scene was cleared by 7:30 p.m. Friday.
Crews have evacuated an entire block in Kansas City after a gas line break Friday evening.
The incident occurred in the 4100 block of Forest Avenue, where city crews were working on sidewalks.
Initially, only two homes were evacuated. The fire department later expanded the evacuation to 10 homes.
Crews located the leak around 5:20 p.m. and are working to repair it. Authorities said no gas readings have been detected inside any of the homes.
No injuries have been reported.
