KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Neighborhoods all across the metro will soon have access to the much-faster internet speeds. The deadline to pre-register a neighborhood for Google Fiber ended at midnight.
The pre-registration phase is now over and at least 180 neighborhoods will get Google Fiber. It offers connection speed 100 times faster than today’s average broadband.
Google employees are calculating the final pre-registration counts from each prospective Fiberhood this week. On Thursday, they will announce each neighborhood meeting the requirements for Google Fiber. They will also announce the order that neighborhoods will receive the new service.
