"It's very competitive," Lindsay Hart, Recreation Superintendent for Sar-Ko-Par Trails park said. "They try not to share their secrets. They spend a lot of time and money in this, and it's very important to a lot of these cooks."
The teams will be competing in seven different categories, and winners will be announced Saturday at 5 p.m.
It will cost $5 to get into the battle Friday night, but admission is free on Saturday.
Sar-Ko-Par Trails Park is located at 87th and Lackman Road in Lenexa. Parking is available at Lenexa City Hall, 95th and Lackman Road and at 87th Street Parkway and Monrovia. Free shuttles will be available at those locations.
