LIBERTY, Mo. - The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s office has determined the cause of death of missing Liberty runner Chad Rogers was due to natural causes.
The autopsy report ruled the cause of death was valvular heart disease. Toxicology reports came back negative for the presence of drugs and alcohol.
The Liberty Police Department has since concluded its investigation into Rogers’ death.
Rogers failed to return home from a run on July 22. Immediately, hundreds of volunteers, local police and K-9 units gathered to aid in the search.
His body was found in south Liberty on July 26.
