Kansas City, Mo. - A former JJ's bartender is going into another line of work as an illumination artist.

Jim Ligon stopped by 41 Action News to show off his new lighting designs. He plans to display them at this weekend's Greater Kansas City Home and Flower, Lawn and Garden Show.

Ligon takes locally crafted recycled wine and liquor boxes and bottles from JJ's and other area restaurants to create stylishly functional, chic lighting and home decor. His company is called Vintage Edison.

Ligon was also the organizer of the Friends of JJ's benefit.

The home show runs through the weekend at Bartle Hall. Show hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

For information and tickets, go to www.kchomeshow.com , or pick up tickets at Hen House, Sun Fresh or Bank of Blue Valley. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door.
