KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Those living in Kansas City are weighing in on how their money should be spent.
On Saturday, the first of eight meetings focusing on next year's budget, were held in the 2400 block of Troost Ave.
City council members, as well as Mayor Sly James, listened to what residents want in their community.
Council members say this year, people are focusing on a number of things, including funding for the arts.
"There are community gardens; that's something that's always very popular. I think people are away of the city's limitations", said Kansas City council member Jan Marcason.
The next meeting will be held at the Southeast Community Center on 63rd street.
It starts at 10:00 a.m.
