KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Fast food workers in Kansas City and around the country went on strike Monday, pushing for higher pay.
One local group rallied outside of a Burger King.
Many of the employees earn minimum wage, which is $7.35 in Missouri and $7.25 in Kansas.
Strikers say they are just looking out for their future.
“We're not looking to be millionaires we're not looking to own the companies we work for we just want to provide for our kids be comfortable about our future,” striker Terrance Wise said
Fast food employees in at least seven other states also went on strike today.
