KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Nearly a foot of spring snow forced Kansas City officials to implement both phases of the city's snow ordinance.
The ordinance is designed to help keep streets clear so plows can safely move out the snow.
Motorists parked on assigned emergency snow routes could find a traffic ticket on their snow-covered windshield.
If your vehicle's tires have worn tread and you get stuck on a main road, you can also get a traffic ticket, according to a city news release.
Officials urge residents who park on the street to follow these guidelines:
Park on the west side of streets that run north and south and park on the north side of east-west streets.
