KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The Hills aren’t the only local Missouri family cashing in from last month’s record Powerball drawing.

Mark and Cindy Hill, of Dearborn, won half of the $587.5 million jackpot from the Nov. 28 drawing.

Two other Missouri players hit the first five numbers, but missed the Powerball, still raking in a $1 million prize.

Brenda Nolan, of Kansas City, used a combination of birth and anniversary dates to pick her numbers.

Nolan bought the ticket at Sunfresh on Northeast Vivion Road in Kansas City. She says she’ll use the money to pay off her mortgage.

The other $1 million ticket was purchased in Joplin and recently claimed by Terri Bullard of Joplin.

Nolan and Bullard were the 11th and 12th Missouri Powerball players to claim a $1 million prize in 2012. The state has the second-most Powerball jackpot winners since the game’s inception with 27.
