Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. - The death of the former president of the Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences has been ruled a suicide.
According to the Kansas City star, the Florida County medical examiner said Karen Pletz died from a combination of alcohol and pain pills.
Pletz died November 22 in her Ft. Lauderdale home.
Pletz was accused of embezzling more than $500,000 from the school.
The charges were dropped after her death.
