KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A local organization, citing an outpouring of public support, has established a fund to help a girl found abused and malnourished in a closet.
Local Investment Coalition-Kansas City spokesman Brent Schondelmeyer said those interested in providing financial assistance can go to the organization’s website ( kclinc.org ), where they have links allowing people to donate via PayPal or Credit Card.
The 10-year-old girl, known as LP, was found locked in a closet earlier this summer, weighing only a fraction what a girl her age should weigh. Her mother, Jacole Prince, has been charged in the case.
Those wanting to send cash, care packages or birthday cards to the girl, who turns 11 on Aug. 1, can mail them to LINK at L.P. Fund C/O LINC, 3100 Broadway, Suite 1100, Kansas City, MO 64111.
