KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Luther Florists & Greenhouses, Inc. has been a Kansas City, Mo., mainstay since 1871. The business was recently selected to receive a complete visual merchandising renovation from international floral company FTD.

An FTD education consultant spearheaded the redesign.

"When I envisioned the makeover, I was picturing the 141-year-old storied history of Luther Florists," explained J. Keith White, FTD designer. "My goal is to thematically show the vibrant history of the flower shop by remembering yesterday, celebrating today and imagining tomorrow."

According to an FTD news release, the makeover focused on a sense of history from the early 1900s when the store’s current location on East 27 th Street opened.

Luther Florists is a fourth and fifth generation, family-owned business. It originally began with three small greenhouses where flowers were grown and taken by horse-drawn wagon to sell at the City Market.
