KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The ongoing violence in Kenya is weighing heavily on the Kenyan natives living in the Kansas City metro area.
Daniel Tubei is a senior at Park University and said his entire family and many of his friends are in Kenya right now.
One of his friends was at the mall when the violence started and was shot in the leg. He's now recovering in a nearby hospital.
"It’s so hard, and it's so painful. Some of my friends are suffering. Some of the people they lost their lives, so it's so painful," Tubei said.
Tubei has been using social media to stay in touch with his friends and family.
