Man struck, killed while walking on Interstate 70 in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 25-year-old Overland Park, Kan ., man died early Sunday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while walking along Interstate 70 near The Paseo .
Police identified the victim as Joshuah E. Wassmer Sunday afternoon. They said he was walking along, or perhaps in, the eastbound lanes of the highway at about 12:20 a.m. when he was struck by a passing sport utility vehicle.
The driver of that vehicle stopped after the crash and provided information to the police. He or she had not been charged with any crime Sunday
Accident investigators closed down the eastbound lanes of I-70 until about 3 a.m. while they worked at the crash scene.
