LIBERTY, Mo. - The Chad Rogers Memorial run started just after 8 o’clock Saturday morning with a 31 balloon.
Friends and family celebrated the 31-year-old’s birthday on Thursday, without the guest of honor.
Rogers disappeared back in July after going for an evening run. His body was later found in an outdoor commode. He died of natural causes.
Rogers was an avid runner, so to honor his memory, they held a 5K in his name.
All proceeds from the race go to the Chad Rogers Memorial Fund for Rogers’ 13-month-old son Matthew.
