KANSAS CITY, Mo. - UMKC is challenging its students to help stop violence in Kansas City by walking in heels.

Thursday night, the 6th annual Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event took place in the Quad near 52nd and Rockhill Road.

Hundreds of men marched in heels to raise awareness of rape and sexual assault.

Kris Webb, who walked in heels, admits it's a lot harder than it looks.

"It's a struggle. Kudos to the women out there. They walk in heels and it's rough. It's really rough," Webb said.

Money raised at the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event will benefit the UMKC Violence Prevention and Response Project.
