OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - With just two weeks until the 20th annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, registration is open for those wanting to participate.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation held its registration rally for the Race for the Cure event at the Microsoft store at the Oak Park Mall in Overland Park, Kan., on Saturday.
Those who registered were entered to win a new Microsoft RT tablet.
Michael Levine, a spokesman for Susan G. Komen, said events like this are the lifeblood of the organization.
"Corporate sponsorships are great not just for cash, but also for the community awareness. All of their employees, all of their personnel coming together to support a cause like Susan G. Komen," Levine said.
Race for the Cure is one of the largest series of 5Ks in the world.
