KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Missouri native, Jordan Connell is running across the United States to help raise awareness about teen homelessness.

He started a group called Team 314 and stopped by 41 Action News Weekend Today and spoke with Najahe Sherman about his journey.

Connell said he is committed to running 40 miles, five days a week from New York City to the Santa Monica Pier. His trip began September 15.

According to Team 314, 3 million young people in the United States run away from home and are living on the streets. Nearly half are physically abused, many trade sex for money and nearly a third have attempted suicide.
