KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Normally alcohol and worship don't mix but a church in Kansas City became the perfect fit.

Today was the grand opening of the Resurrection Church Downtown.

It is in the 1500 block of McGee.

It used to be known as the Crosstown Station Bar, but the church bought the space in order to accommodate its 400 plus members who mostly live in the downtown area.

"We love the neighborhood. We’re called to meet people where they are and this is where people are in the heart of the Crossroads Arts District and in the heart of the Power and Light District and this is a place that we have great life and great neighbors," said Scott Chrostek, a pastor.

Chrostek says they will also build a coffee bar and a nursery in the church.
