KANSAS CITY, Mo. - According to the Kansas City Fire Department, at least one person was killed in relation to an apartment building fire Monday night that left dozens without a home.
The fire was at the Cloverset Apartments at 10640 Washington in Kansas City, Mo. Fire crews arrived just after 8:45 p.m. Monday and evacuated 30 residents.
Authorities found the body under debris in a kitchen during clean-up. It is unknown how the person died and the fire origin is still under investigation.
The fire was put out in 30 minutes. The apartment complex opened the clubhouse to residents displaced by the flames.
