KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Kansas City police are investigating a 59-year-old patient found dead from being shot while in his bed at the Truman Medical Center.
A nurse noticed a burning odor, apparently from gun smoke.
When she checked the patient’s room, she found him bleeding from the nose.
Staff was just about to perform CPR when they realized the patient has a “do not resuscitate” order.
Police say they noticed a handgun under the man’s arm.
Homicide detectives are now investigating and awaiting the outcome of an autopsy.
