KANSAS CITY, Mo. - One person was burned when a fire broke out Sunday morning in a house at 7705 E. 111th Terrace in the Ruskin Heights neighborhood.

The alarm was sounded around 8:30 a.m. A resident of the home was later transported by ambulance to the University of Kansas Hospital with burn injuries.

Fire Department spokesman Battalion Chief James Garrett said late Sunday morning there was no word yet as to the cause of the fire or the extent of damage to the home. The investigation is ongoing.
