KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A petition has been organized calling for Bishop Robert Finn to resign from the Catholic Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
Last month, Finn was found guilty for failing to report suspected child abuse.
He's the highest-ranking U.S. church official to ever face such a conviction.
On Monday, we spoke to Jeff Weis, who has partnered with change.org to get Finn to step down.
"It's demoralizing and it's sad that he is still in the position he is in. To me, it shows disrespect to those in the flock," Jeff Weis said.
The petition is set up to send email blasts out to the Diocese headquarters, U.S. Bishops and leaders in the Vatican every time someone new signs the petition.
You can view the signatures by going to bishopfinnpetition.com . It currently has more than 91,000 supporters.
