MERRIAM, Kan. - Petunia, the pig found running loose in a Merriam park, is spending her first day at her new home.
Petunia was originally scheduled for adoption later this week, but Great Plains SPCA doctors said she was doing so well after her spay surgery, they sent her home early.
Merriam police found Petunia roaming Brown Memorial park one September morning.
She was held at the Great Plains SPCA shelter for five days, giving her owner time to claim her. When she wasn’t claimed, she was put up for adoption.
