KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Trevor Garms, 17, was identified as the person who was shot during Monday's home invasion.

Police believe Garms and a second suspect broke into a home on the 5800 block of Garfield.

Police said the female homeowner was locked in a closet by the intruders. The woman was able to break free, grab a gun that was in the closet and shoot Garms.

When police arrived, they found him in the front yard. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The other suspect fled on foot.

Police are still looking for the other suspect.
