PRAIRIE VILLAGE, Kan. - The proposed “Mission Chateau Project” senior center has some in Prairie Village, Kan., saying it would create problems for them.
Neighbors in opposition to the development think the senior center is just too big for their neighborhood.
On Tuesday night, hundreds are expected to fill the room to voice their opinion about the project.
Right now, the site for the proposed senior living facility is zoned residential and the developer needs a special permit to build.
Ten out of 13 council members would need to vote yes for the project to get the green light.
The Mission Chateau Senior Living Facility could house up to 450 seniors.
As a facility just too big for many living nearby, the developer says they have already pushed the project back.
