KANSAS CITY, Missouri - A new pawn shop advertising guns and ammunition has some people concerned.
Monday night, local protesters lined up at the Smart Pawn Shop in the 6300 block of Troost. The store is near three local schools.
"This kind of enterprise and business does nothing to increase the health or wealth of our community,” said Dr. Vernon Howard, Senior Pastor, Second Baptist Church.
"Kids are running around the streets shooting at each other,” said Mary Rabon, protestor. “I mean right in front of my house on a sunday afternoon, and i'm tired. I'm really tired of it"
Smart Pawn representatives say they will make sure customers meet age requirements and pass a background check before any guns are sold from the shop.
