KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Security was put on high alert in the Power & Light District on Saturday as protestors made their way through the crowds at the Show-Me Pride Fest.
We’re told security had to follow the protestors around because so many festival goers became angry. That’s because the protestors were shouting Bible verses and declared homosexuality an abomination.
Festival-goers say they are frustrated by the whole incident.
"I just don't get why,” said Thomas Schlumm. “What is everyone doing here but enjoying one another? It's all about equality and love for one another, and they're here to fight it."
The protesters are expected to return Sunday, when the festival continues with several events - including a march.
This is the 34th year for the pride festival in Kansas City.
