KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Small shapes became big masterpieces in Kansas City Saturday afternoon.

Teams with the First Lego League faced off in a friendly competition.

Using the plastic building bricks, the group designed and built robots as part of the Senior Solutions Challenge.

Teams had to find ways to help improve the quality of life for seniors through the science of robots.

Organizers said they expected about 8,000 people at Saturday's event.
