KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The mother of a young boy found wandering along a busy Kansas City road outside a daycare facility Wednesday morning says she woke up and found her door open.

Sloane Heller has all the details in the video player on the left.

Authorities say a family came to drop off their child at Endless Possibilities, a 24-hour daycare in the 6800 block of Bannister Road around 5:45 a.m. and saw what was initially thought to be a young girl, soaking wet and shivering, walking outside near the building.

It turned out to be a young boy wearing pajamas and a diaper, but no shoes.

Police and paramedics were called to check his condition. The boy was reunited with his mother outside the daycare just before 7 a.m.

The child was taken to an area hospital for evaulation. The owner of the daycare said he appeared to be in good condition.

The boy's mom, who went with police for further questioning, said they live about  a half-mile away and think the boy walked there on his own, but the daycare owner said the boy's feet were not wet and he didn't appear to have walked there.
