KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A woman from Kansas City, Mo., who prompted a Silver Alert when she disappeared Saturday, has been safely located.
Carol O’Brien was found Monday morning, according to police. She is in good health.
Authorities say Carol O’Brien, 65, checked herself out of St. Luke’s Hospital, 5830 Northwest Barry Rd., against medical advice. She drove away from the hospital just after 11 a.m. Saturday, prompting police to issue a Silver Alert.
41 Action News spoke with a hospital spokesperson who told us HIPAA restraints prevent them from being able to release any information about how or why O'Brien was discharged, but they do tell us that in general, the hospital cannot restrain any patients who want to leave on their own will.
