KANSAS CITY, Missouri - Six water main breaks have left hundreds of people in the Northland without water this weekend.
Kansas City water crews spent the overnight hours restoring service to more than 300 people.
Bob and Flora Matthiesen have been through this before.
Once they saw crews arrive Saturday morning, they began filling up pots, not knowing how long it would be before running water would flow again.
"Every 20-25 feet there's another cut in the asphalt where they have to do repairs, shut the street down awhile and put a new water line in, and just be done with it" said Bob Matthiesen.
In 2005, voters approved a 250-million dollar bond upgrade to the city’s sewer system.
So far, the water services department has replaced 50-miles of line.
