Superstorm Sandy caused some travelers to stick around Kansas City a bit longer than expected.
Rita Henaku and her husband flew into KCI from Virginia for a business trip Saturday. The couple hoped to fly back home Monday morning, but instead, their flight was canceled three times.
Henaku said she hadn't thought it was necessary to reschedule the trip ahead of time. She was hopeful she'd finally make it home Tuesday night.
"It wasn't like I was scared or got prepared," Henaku said. "I just didn't think it was going to be that serious."
Only a handful of flights were canceled out of Kansas City Tuesday evening.
