KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Center School District officials are asking parents to speak to their children about safety strategies after a female student said a man approached her as she walked to school.

District administrators sent sent a letter home to parents on Thursday evening alerting them to the incident.  The Center Alternative School student describes the man as a black male in his 40s with no facial hair. The man has a fade haircut and was missing teeth in the front.

The student said he was driving a white newer model Cadillac.

The Kansas City Police Department was notified of the incident and have followed up on a possible license plate number associated with the man.
