KANSAS CITY, Mo. - It has been almost a month since Henry Feugate had to say his final goodbye to his 9-year-old daughter.

Johnna and her twin sister, Christina, were riding together on a bicycle and didn't stop at a stop sign at an intersection in the 400 block of Osage in Paola, Kan.

A car hit them and both were taken to Children's Mercy in Kansas City, Mo.

The accident happened on September 21. Johnna died a week later in the hospital.

"One day at a time. It's hard," Feugate said.

Feugate and his family are still trying to cope with the tragedy. Christina is out of the hospital and back in school, but she is reminded everyday that her sister will never be by her side again.

"Christina tells her Mom every morning what she (Johnna) is doing. What Johnna is doing for the day. She can feel it. It Gives us comfort but it hurts once in a while," Feugate said.

The family is relying on friends during this difficult time. Kenny Foulk decided to organize a benefit for the family.

"I couldn't imagine what they are going through," Foulk said. "I know what I'm going through as a friend that knew the girls."

Foulk created flyers for the event that will be held at the Grand Loft in Osawatomie on Friday at 7 p.m.

"For Johnna's expenses and for Christina's future medical care she is going to need,"  Foulk said.
