KANSAS CITY, Missouri - The Kansas City Zoo is home to four new baby piglets. Their birth on April 23 marked the first time Red River Hog piglets have been born at the zoo. Right now the babies have multiple stripes that will fade as they grow up.
"Slowly they'll start to lose that color pattern, and they'll get their real bright red or orange coating and their white stripe down their back just like mom and dad," says Interim General Curator Sean Putney.
Mom and dad hog are first time parents and zoo staff says they are doing a great job.
Each piglet should grow to be around 160 pounds.
