KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Strong storms in the Kansas City metro have left thousands in the dark.
There are currently more than 5,800 customers without power due to the storms.
KCP&L reports 4,600 customers are without power, and BPU is reporting 1,260 customers out.
Independence Power and Light as restored power to customers affected by the storm.
Several counties were under a Severe Thunderstorm Warning in effect until 6:45 p.m. That warning has since been canceled.
