KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A new mixed-use development planned for 51 st Street and Oak could eventually feature a grocery store, a college office and rental housing.
In a statement, the University of Missouri Kansas City says they would lease the land to Van Trust Real Estate and DST Systems, who would construct and manage the development.
The university has been told that at least one of tenants will be a Whole Foods Market. Approximately 150 apartments would also be included in the project. The university would move its Student Health and Counseling Center from 4825 Troost into the new project.
The location is currently occupied by two parking lots and an annex building.
