They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but a Kansas City, Mo., couple's pregnancy picture hit the Internet and it appears to be worth thousands of likes on Facebook.
Now, Iowa photographer Ashley Hempel is getting international attention for a playful picture she took of Kansas City’s Aaron and Laura Morgan.
"He's embracing having a belly, I guess,” Hempel said. “And it's just the realness of it."
The photo's gone viral, garnering tens of thousands of likes on Ashley's business Facebook page.
"I couldn't believe it really,” Hempel said. “It's kind of like 'Oh my gosh,' overwhelming."
The Morgans can't believe it either.
"I did what most guys with a beer belly would do and anybody that has a sense of humor would do anyway," Aaron Morgan said.
Laura Morgan says she had no idea what was going on behind her, then it was Hempel who gave it away.
"She just started laughing uncontrollably and i was like, 'What is going on?' and when I turned around, it was my husband doing silly poses."
Photographers like Hempel say it's these unscripted moments that everyone can relate to, and it's why she loves her job.
"To capture something like that, you're going to have that forever and you're always going to look back at that picture and remember that moment."
