KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Firefighters have recovered the body of a swimmer reported missing in Longview Lake on Wednesday night.
Just before 8:30 p.m., rescue crews were called out to near the dam at Longview Lake on a reported water rescue.
When they were arrived, they were advised by a witness that two people were swimming in the lake near the dam.
One swimmer made it to the shore, according to the witness, while the other swimmer, identified by authorities as 31-year-old Jeremy Parker, of Grandview, Mo., did not return to the shore.
Rescue crews called for assistance from the Kansas City Police helicopter used sonar equipment to help locate Parker’s body.
