KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A 16-inch water line break shut off service Tuesday afternoon to less than a dozen customers in the River Market area.
The break occurred at Independence Avenue and Grand Boulevard.
Crews were able to make quick repairs so that water was restored within two hours of the break.
Grand Boulevard will be closed from Fourth to Sixth streets while major repairs are done on the line.
The ruptured pipe was 56 years old.
