KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Water usage is up to 200 million gallons a day, according to the Kansas City, Mo., water department.
During what a typical summer, residents use just under 5,700 gallons per household each month.
So far this month, the water department has produced almost 3.9 billion gallons. For the entire month of July last year, it produced 4 billion gallons of water.
Officials said the city of Lee's Summit is its biggest customer this summer, but did not explain why.
