LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KARK) - An Arkansas girl battling cancer traded in her hospital gown for a ball gown Thursday as her school gave her a special homecoming.
Thirteen-year-old Kaitlyn Campbell was supposed to undergo chemotherapy at Arkansas Children's Hospital Thursday but her family and doctor put it off for a day s she could go back to school to receive the special honor.
In April, doctors diagnosed the 13-year-old with Ewing Sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Kaitlyn hasn't been to school at all this year, so this truly was a special homecoming for her.
