ST. LOUIS (AP) - The summer drought resulted in cancellation of fireworks displays in many parts of the country. But now, nearly four months later, The Hill neighborhood in St. Louis is ready to celebrate.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that The Hill will shoot off fireworks at 7:30 p.m. Saturday a Sublette Park. The display originally scheduled for the Fourth of July was called off over concerns that the dry grass could catch fire because of the summer drought.

The event should be significantly cooler than the typical Independence Day show. Highs in St. Louis over the weekend are expected to barely reach into the 50s.
