A local elementary school student is rapping a tribute to his public school teachers and staff.

Wesley Ekstrand is a 4th grader in the Blue Valley School District. He has written, taped and uploaded a rap about his school, set to the tune of Jay Z's "Empire State of Mind." Ekstrand's song is titled "Public School State of Mind."

The video has 22,000 views on Youtube.
