DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) - Des Moines police say a woman with no obvious injuries demanded an ambulance ride over the weekend to a hospital across the street.
The Des Moines Police Department says officers arrived at a gas station near Mercy Medical Center Saturday night after a report about an assault.
Television station KCCI-TV (http://bit.ly/YAaLeT ) reports the woman complained about a headache but medics could find no obvious injuries. Police say the woman's report about an assault kept changing, and she admitted she had been drinking.
Medics told the woman that an ambulance ride would cost her $400. She told them she wanted the ride anyway.
It's unclear if the woman faces any charges. Des Moines police did not immediately return a message Monday.
