GUFFEY, Colorado - Some chickens in Colorado have flown the coop.
Twenty-five years ago Bill Soux started the Fourth of July tradition -- Guffey Chicken Fly.
People climb up the chicken tower, put it into the chicken launch, and give them a little push.
"Take your chicken plunger and I’ll say how far, you'll say Denver..pow!" Soux said.
The goal is to see which chicken flew the farthest.
All the money raised stays in the community for various causes.
