KANSAS CITY, Mo. - A stranded motorist was hit by a semi truck on westbound Interstate 70 near Manchester Trafficway on Tuesday evening.

The crash occurred around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The woman struck is in critical condition.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the woman's car was stalled in the center lane. She was inside the vehicle with the flashers on when it was hit by the semi truck.

The semi driver told police he wasn't able to avoid her car. The crash is under investigation.

All lanes of the highway were reopened by 11 p.m.
