WYANDOTTE COUNTY, Kansas - The Child Support Amnesty and Resource Fair will be held Friday, Aug. 20, at the Village West Holiday Inn Express at Interstate 435 and Parallel Parkway. It’s scheduled to run from noon to 5 p.m.
People who attend the Fair will have the opportunity to straighten out problems with the Child Support court. They can make back payments, arrange new court dates and get bench warrants lifted.
The fair will also offer help with job placement and education. The "Workforce One" mobile unit will be on hand assisting with online job searches and job opportunities. Representatives from local training programs and community colleges will also be there to help participants connect with jobs and job training. Organizers will offer Information on learning how to remove barriers to employment, such as old criminal convictions, and records of arrest.
The fair is presented through a partnership with the Kansas Department of SRS Child Support Enforcement, the District Court Trustee for Wyandotte County, the Leavenworth County Attorney's Office, Workforce Partnership Mobile One, the Kansas City Kansas Community College Technical Education Center and Military Recruiters.
