LATHROP, Mo. - More than fifty people came together in Lathrop, Mo., Saturday afternoon to remember and celebrate the birthday of Carol Thompson.
Thompson would have turned 51 on Halloween, but she disappeared from her home eight miles outside of Lathrop five months ago. Thompson’s purse, heart medicine and other belongings were found inside her home.
"I want to celebrate every holiday with her and any moment that we can get together, it makes me realize that time is very precious and you can't bring it back", said Judy Courtney, Thompson’s sister, while choking back tears.
Thompson's family said she was depressed after losing her husband and suffering a series of heart attacks.
Thompson's friends and family said they hope the event reminds the community that Thompson is still missing and that they continue to search for answers.
A $1,500 reward is available for anyone with information that might lead authorities to the missing woman.
Within the last few weeks, family members have given their D.N.A. to investigators to help identify Thompson if she is found.
People are asked to contact the Caldwell County Sheriff's Department with tips at 816-586-2681.
